Ithaca's Jordan Hessbrook has been named the latest Detroit Lions High School Football Coach of the Week after helping the Yellowjackets move to 4-0.

Hessbrook, who is in his fifth season as Ithaca's head coach and 12th season coaching high school football, earned recognition after the Yellowjackets picked up a 68-6 victory over Carrollton on Friday, Sept. 19.

Ithaca has won 29 straight regular season games under Hessbrook, which includes having back-to-back undefeated regular seasons in 2023 and 2024. The last regular season loss for the Yellowjackets came in Week 2 of the 2022 season. Ithaca has averaged 50.8 points per game during the opening half of the regular season as it prepares for a Week 5 contest against Hemlock.
