(WJET/WFXP)-- Elected officials in Crawford County are making spending changes as they face what they're calling a financial crisis, as they wait to receive funds from the long-overdue state budget.
The Crawford County Board of Commissioners stated in a letter signed by Chairman Eric Henry, Vice Chairman Scott Schell, and Secretary/Treasurer Christopher Seeley that they believe the county's revenue will fall short by $10 million by the end of November.
According to the board, the county's Human Services Department alone is owed more than $5 million in first-quarter payments and they're now taking steps they're calling unfortunate.
