LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) - The 45th Ryder Cup, which will be played Sept. 26-28 in Farmingdale, New York at Bethpage Black will be the first that includes Gary Woodland.

The 2019 US Open winner is one of five vice captains on Team USA. Woodland spoke about the opportunity after being inducted into the KU Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday.

“It’s been special to get to be a part of this process the last couple of months,” Woodland said. “To get to know the guys on a deeper level...it’s Bethpage in New York, it’s going to be absolute madness.”

“We’ve got some young guys coming in there, we’re trying to get them ready for what to expect,” Woodland continued. “But it should be a special week and I’m looking forward to it.”
