HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — Outdoor enthusiasts across Pennsylvania will have the chance to celebrate the state’s hunting, fishing, and conservation heritage this weekend as agencies mark National Hunting and Fishing Day.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Fish and Boat Commission announced a slate of free, family-friendly events planned for Saturday, Sept. 27, and Sunday, Sept. 28. Activities include fishing demonstrations, archery courses, and hands-on conservation projects at state parks and wildlife areas across the Commonwealth.
“National Hunting and Fishing Day is really an opportunity to celebrate conservation across the country, but especially here in Pennsylvania,” Steve Smith, executive director of the Game Commission, said.
