HONOLULU (Island News) – A woman has died after a hit-and-run incident occurred in the Kalihi area on Monday night.

Police said that the incident occurred at about 7 p.m. at the intersection of North School St. and Kokea St. in Kalihi.

It was reported that a 58-year-old woman was trying to cross North School Street within a marked crosswalk when she was struck by an unidentified man who made a left turn from Kokea St.

The unidentified man left the scene and was last seen traveling westbound on North School St. and has yet to be identified.

As a result of the collision, the 58-year-old woman was taken by the Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a hospital in critical condition. However, it was confirmed that the woman’s condition deteriorated and she was pronounced dead.
