A health official and policy leader with White House experience is Governor Matt Meyer's choice to lead the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services .

Christen Linke Young served as Deputy Secretary of North Carolina Health and Human Services before joining the Biden White House. DHSS Secretary Josette Manning plans to leave state government next week to become State Director for Senator Chris Coons.

Young's nomination goes to the State Senate for confirmation.

Health and Social Services is the state's largest agency, with multiple divisions and about 4,000 employees.
