LANCASTER, S.C. (WBTV) - A Lancaster County man is in custody and police alleged that he was keeping multiple vulnerable adults in his basement and was using their money.

35-year-old Donnie Ray Birchfield Jr. is accused of keeping four people in his basement on Churchill Drive and using their money.

He is facing 16 charges, including multiple counts of false imprisonment and multiple counts of exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

Lancaster police responded to an unattended death on July 25 at a home on Churchill Drive, and according to reports, police learned that Birchfield was keeping multiple people in his basement.
