PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Maria Osterroth Sussman came to Portland from Mexico City 20 years ago. The very next year she decided to begin the Portland Latin American Film Festival.

This year's festival runs from September 24 through November 12 at the Hollywood Theater in Northeast Portland.

"This year we are having 11 films from different countries of Latin America and one short film," she told KOIN 6 News. "But some of the countries that we are featuring are Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Venezuela."

The opening film this year is Autos, Mota and Rock ‘n’ Roll (Autos, Mota y Rocanrol), a mockumentary about friends who organize a simple car race and rock concert. Actor Enrique Arrizon, who stars in the Apple TV+ series Acapulco, will be at the scree
