SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The GLO Center announced it will move forward with Pride on C-Street on Saturday, Sept. 27, after reviewing safety procedures and event plans following a threat made against the center yesterday.
The center said safety measures will include roadblocks surrounding the event area, private security personnel, trained volunteers and off-duty police officers. Some measures will be visible to attendees, while others will be kept behind the scenes.
Safety steps are meant to allow artists, families, vendors and neighbors to celebrate “with confidence,” the center said in a social media post Tuesday, Sept. 23.
