Alaska’s iconic Iditarod race is honoring some of its most legendary mushers. Six trailblazers have been named the inaugural class of the Iditarod Musher Hall of Fame.
Rick Swenson, Libby Riddles, Susan Butcher, Martin Buser, Jeff King, and Lance Mackey will all be celebrated for their achievements, perseverance, and dedication to their dogs.
Swenson, the “King of the Iditarod,” became the first musher to win five times across three decades, while Riddles made history in 1985 as the first woman to win, paving the way for others to follow.
