SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Greater Springfield Area Crime Stoppers hopes you’ll help catch a man facing a terroristic threat charge.

Police say there is a warrant for the arrest of Jonathan Douglas Hayward, 32. Hayward is accused of turning on the gas stove burners in his Springfield apartment in July 2024, causing it to be evacuated. Twenty people were displaced.

A woman told investigators she heard Hayward say, “They can’t make me leave,” and “I am going to burn this place down.”

Hayward is 6’6″, weighs 200 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes.

Hayward is believed to be in the Greene County area, but has ties to Ozark. If you have information that leads to his arrest, call Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477). There is a cash reward.
