Politicians have agreed to review a city program that partners with landlords to house homeless Londoners after one councillor flagged unsafe living conditions in some units.

A review, ordered by Ward 4 Coun. Susan Stevenson and approved by council, calls for identifying issues preventing successful tenancy within the city’s housing stability programs, assess success rates, and make recommendations to strengthen tenant placement processes.

“It’s a huge concern . . . if we’re going to run these programs, even if its only a handful of units, we need to take the time to look at what isn’t working,” Stevenson said. “I’m not saying the whole program needs to be thrown out.”
