Plenty of Xander Bogaerts’ teammates got lost in the moment late Monday night.
The 32-year-old veteran certainly enjoyed himself, too. But he was making sure nobody stepped on his left foot and likely made sure more alcohol ended up on the plastic spread over the clubhouse carpet than down his guzzle.
Tuesday, after all, was still going to be a big day for Bogaerts. Tuesday, he was coming off the injured list after nearly a month on the shelf with the fracture in his left foot.
“Some guys might be wasted, some more than others,” Bogaerts said. “But that’s what you’re supposed to do, you know. I mean, we accomplished something that we all wanted. … It was a little different for me. I was more focused on (Tuesday) than most of the other guys.”
So as expected, Bogaerts was activated off
