NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man faces multiple charges in connection with an August shooting in South Nashville.

The Metro Nashville Police Department announced Tuesday that detectives with the Specialized Investigations Division charged 37-year-old Jilber Aguirre-Videa with attempted murder, aggravated assault and using a gun to commit a dangerous felony in connection with an Aug. 24 shooting.

That shooting happened in the 300 block of Natchez Court in South Nashville at around 7 a.m. News 2 previously reported that police said the shooting happened at a birthday party and shots were fired during a fight involving a machete. A 28-year-old man and his 33-year-old sister were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the shooting. • (
