There were moments in this season where it looked inevitable. There were others when it looked like a long shot. But in the final week of the season the Yankees have punched their ticket to the playoffs.

They did it in dramatic fashion when Jose Caballero hit a two-out flare single to centerfield to drive in Aaron Judge from second base and give the Yankees a 3-2 triumph over the White Sox before 38,318 at the Stadium.

The winning rally started with Anthony Volpe lacing a single to left-centerfield and continued when Austin Wells roped a single into right-center. Trent Grisham hit into a 4-6-3 double play and Judge was intentionally walked to put runners on the corners.
