PENFIELD, N.Y. (WROC) - In a double-overtime battle on Tuesday night, Penfield and McQuaid finished in a 1-1 tie.
McQuaid got on the board twelve minutes into the first half with a goal from Keirnan McManus. The Knights led 1-0 at the break.
With just four minutes left on the clock, Penfield kicked its first corner kick of the game. The ball came in, and Caden Shager sent a header to Nathan Heise who finished it off for the goal to force overtime.
Both goalies locked it down in extra minutes. McQuaid's Blaise Weidmann and Penfield's Ryder Lucas kept the opposing team out of the net to give both squads their first ties of the season.
Penfield (4-3-1) will host Schroeder on Friday, September 26. McQuaid (5-2-1) will host Mendon on Saturday, September 27.
