BOAZ, Ala. (WHNT) — There will be several new faces, but also a familiar one, serving in city leadership in Boaz following Tuesday's runoff election.
Mayor-elect Tim Walker defeated Jana Pair by about 360 votes.
Also elected during the runoff were Steven Bates, who will be serving in Place 2 on the city council, and Alan Hales, who will be serving in Place 3.
"I've got a very young council that's been elected, and that's a good thing because I've got a lot of energy and I've got a good bit of experience. So we're going to work together," Walker said.
This isn't the first time Walker has held the office, as he was mayor from 2000 to 2016.
He told News 19 that he intends to do what he can to improve the quality of life for those living in Boaz. He said he is grateful for the support he
