England has revealed the 16 players that will touch down in Australia this summer, hoping to win back the coveted Ashes urn for the first time in a decade.
On Tuesday, the ECB announced its squad for the blockbuster five-Test campaign , which gets underway at Perth Stadium on November 21. England hasn’t won an Ashes series since 2015, while the nation’s most recent triumph on Australian soil was way back in January 2012.
However, led by coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes, England has built an intimidating squad that features plenty of firepower – along with plenty of flaws.
Despite boasting one of the world’s best batting attacks, the team’s injury-prone pace cartel is accompanied by an unproven spin duo, while the No. 3 position remains a glaring question mark.
