SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WSMV) - What began as a playful rivalry between high school students has escalated into widespread vandalism, prompting concern from both residents and law enforcement in Sumner County.

Residents in several neighborhoods off Long Hollow Pike in Gallatin, as well as in nearby Hendersonville, say the incidents started as lighthearted pranks involving toilet paper, sugar, and shaving cream. But in recent days, homeowners report the situation has gotten out of hand.

Some residents say their vehicles have been spray-painted, while others have had to clean their homes multiple times after being targeted. Police have confirmed they are aware of the activity and are taking it seriously.
