CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WBOY) — If you've driven through Clarksburg in recent months, you've likely experienced delays from utility work being done, but rough roads may not be the only pain point for residents as the Clarksburg Water Board met Tuesday night to discuss rate increases, along with more work coming that will likely affect residents' commutes.
If adopted, the water rate increase would be about 9% for most residents in Clarksburg. Clarksburg Water Board General Manager Jason Myers told 12 News that the increase is to adjust with inflation and maintain operational costs.
“We only increased the rates what we had to increase them. We’re not out to make a profit. We’re just out to cover our operational cost,” Myers said.
The last time the water board did a rate increase was in 2022. M
