NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A weak cold front will slide into our area Wednesday evening and stick around through Thursday, bringing our best chance of rain and storms this week. Some of these storms could turn strong, with gusty winds (40–60 mph) and frequent lightning being the main concerns. A quick downpour or two is also possible, and while most places won’t see flooding, some neighborhoods could deal with brief street flooding if a heavy storm sets up overhead.

The good news? Once the front pushes through, the weather looks fantastic for the weekend. Skies will turn mostly sunny, the humidity will drop, and temperatures will be much more comfortable.
