LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - James Arthur Vineyards in Raymond has been in operation for 28 years, and in that time is its wines have earned numerous awards.
This month three more were added to that collection, after besting competition at the International Eastern Wine Competition in California.
All three of the vineyard’s wines that were entered placed in the competition.
Its Bourbon Barrel-Aged Frontenac won silver, and its 2023 Edelweiss, a vineyard staple, took home gold.
The vineyard’s red wine titled “Sweet Charlotte” saw the most success, winning Double Gold and Best in Class, while receiving a score of 96 out of 100 from judges.
Vineyard co-owner Jim Ballard says that while the awards are nice, earning them proves what he sees as the greatest achievement.
