SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - It was a wet start to the 81st annual Sikeston Cotton Carnival--but dozens of folks still showed up.

Organizers had to make a few changes on Tuesday for the start of the Sikeston Cotton Carnival, but said plenty of fun was still there to be had.

“Everybody is super excited to come out and be in the barn, in the karaoke contest, and they’ve brought their own fanbase, so everybody is excited,” said Frankie Adams, American Legion Commander, Post 114.

The rain shut down rides for the evening, but food vendors were still selling delicious treats.

The karaoke contest was supposed to be on an outside stage, but had to be moved inside.
