The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said two people were arrested and more than nine pounds of suspected methamphetamine and other drugs were seized during a traffic stop along Interstate 40 in Wheeler County on Tuesday night.
A DPS trooper stopped a 2025 Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on I-40 near Shamrock for a traffic violation about 8:20 p.m. Sept. 22. During the stop, the trooper found multiple vacuum-sealed packages of suspected methamphetamine, several plastic bags of suspected marijuana and four THC-infused vape pens. DPS said the drugs were being concealed inside luggage. DPS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents were contacted to assist with the investigation.
