Hearing in apex court today

Bhopal: In a strategic move ahead of a crucial Supreme Court hearing, the Madhya Pradesh government has expanded its legal team to argue for the 27% reservation for the Other Backward Classes (OBC). The state has hired prominent lawyers in addition to the standing Advocate General to present its case.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the matter today. To strengthen its representation, the government has authorized senior Tamil Nadu advocate and Rajya Sabha MP P. Wilson, along with advocate Shashank Ratanu, to represent the interests of the OBC community in the case.

The decision to bring in additional legal counsel underscores the government’s determination to defend the reservation policy, which has been a subject of intense political and legal debate
