A Victorian court has heard authorities expect to lay more charges against a cleaner accused of secretly filming children in the bathroom of a kindergarten where he worked.

In July, Mildura man Christopher Rankin, 35, was caught with thousands of child abuse images.

The "tech-savvy" cleaner is accused of hiding a camera at a Mildura kindergarten to film children while they were using the bathroom.

On Wednesday in the Mildura Magistrates' Court, Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions lawyer Christine Vu said a review of the footage revealed there was at least one more alleged victim.

"Initially, there was one victim, and after further assessment, there is another confirmed victim and potentially more, your honour," Ms Vu told the court.
