Viral Video Shows Delivery Robot Striking Disabled Man in WeHo

Concerns about delivery robot safety have arisen in West Hollywood after a viral video showed a man with cerebral palsy repeatedly struck and blocked by one of the autonomous machines while using a mobility scooter.

The incident occurred on Sept. 12 near the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station as local therapist and disability advocate Mark Chaney-Gay was returning home from a medical procedure. Chaney-Gay said the delivery robot swerved toward him multiple times, forcing him to stop and attempt to maneuver around it.
