New Delhi: The fasting during Navratri is a unique practice in India. One abstains from grains, pulses, and meat for nine days and lives on fruits, milk, potatoes, and sabudana-based food. Though spiritually uplifting and normally a comforting change of diet, it does affect the body’s natural pace. Subtle for most, for those with underlying or pre-existing issues, fasting acts as a natural stress test, revealing latent issues. That’s when the diagnostic thinking comes into play.
