Cyclists, skaters, walkers and anyone else moving but not driving can be difficult for motorists to see.
This is why the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission created a subcommittee to consider how to make it more inviting to get outside for air and exercise in a variety of ways, while also making this type of trip-taking potentially less dangerous.
“Roswell’s bike lanes aren’t just for cyclists — they’re for anyone who walks, skates and rolls,” Jeneva Jewel Martinez explained in a written response to questions from the Daily Record.
Martinez is the vice chair of the commission and leads the subcommittee. “Highlighting these routes helps drivers stay alert, reduces conflicts, and makes the streets safer for everyone, including children and older adults,” she said.
