The Hero Hockey India League (HIL) Governing Council has officially taken over the management of the UP Rudras franchise for the 2026 season.

This decision follows the team’s temporary exit from the league, which came shortly after the withdrawal of Team Gonasika (men’s) and Odisha Warriors (women’s) last month due to personal reasons.

The Council’s intervention ensures that UP Rudras will continue to participate in the men’s competition, preserving the league’s competitive balance. Until a new franchise owner is secured, the Governing Council will oversee all team operations, including day-to-day management and player coordination. Officials have confirmed that discussions are open with potential buyers.
