The Election Commission of India on Wednesday (September 24, 2025) announced that elections to four vacant Rajya Sabha seats from Jammu and Kashmir will be held on October 24. This comes nearly a year after Assembly elections were conducted in the Union Territory.

Jammu and Kashmir has been unrepresented in the Upper House since February 2021, when the terms of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Nazir Ahmed Laway expired on February 15, and Fayaz Ahmed Mir and Shamsheer Singh Manhas completed their terms on February 10.
