Expect a mix of sun and clouds this afternoon with highs climbing into the low to mid 90s. Heat indices could reach the upper 90s and possibly even the low 100s, so stay hydrated and take it easy if you're spending time outside.

The heat sticks around Thursday, but a cold front will begin pushing in late in the day. With that added heat and energy, a few strong to severe storms are possible Thursday afternoon and evening. The primary threat looks to be gusty winds and heavy downpours.
