The Scales Mound Trap Team received a $500 scholarship from the Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, presented by State Sen. Andrew Chesney, R-Freeport.

The scholarship aims to support the school's trap shooting program, according to a community announcement.

“The Illinois Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus plays an important role in advancing policies that protect and promote hunting, fishing, trapping and wildlife management in Illinois,” Chesney said in the announcement. “Trap shooting takes dedication and skill, and I was pleased to help the Scales Mound High School Trap Team offset costs associated with their program.”
