SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) - Savannah park goers are advocating for more safety in popular places like Daffin and Forsyth Parks.
One Savannah resident is specifically asking city leaders to install emergency call boxes in the areas.
The devices are called emergency call boxes and they’re pretty hard to miss. They normally have a blinking blue light that shines in the dark, and they’re often placed in easy to spot areas. Unfortunately, you won’t see one in Savannah... at least not yet.
Savannah native Kristen Lacey is calling on local leaders to add emergency call boxes to the parks in Savannah, including Daffin and Forsyth.
Right now, Lacey is training for the Savannah half marathon, so she spends several days a week running through the parks.
