After imposing a fee of $100,000 for H1-B visa application beginning September 21, 2025, the Donald Trump administration is mulling the idea of scrapping the existing visa system and replace it with a new system. A weighted selection model will replace the existing lottery system. According to the proposed new system, based on the salary, all visa applications will be placed in four groups.
