Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara on Thursday, September 25, to inaugurate and lay the foundation for development works worth Rs 1.08 lakh crore, according to officials, reported by IANS. The projects span energy, infrastructure, water and healthcare with the centrepiece being the Rs 42,000 crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project.

Landmark energy push

The nuclear project, with a generation capacity of 2,800 MW, is expected to play a key role in boosting India's power sector. In addition, PM Modi will launch a 590 MW renewable energy project in Bikaner worth Rs 8,500 crore and dedicate 1,400 MW of solar projects to the nation, including the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi developed at a cost of Rs 10,710 crore.
