A man has drowned at a beach on the NSW Central Coast .
Emergency services were called to Soldiers Beach at Norah Head, about 75 kilometres north-east of Sydney, just after 3pm today.
The call was made after a swimmer was reported to be in trouble in the water.
A man believed to be in his 50s was pulled from the water unresponsive and was treated by paramedics.
Sadly, he died at the scene.
Conditions were reported to be relatively calm at the beach at the time of the incident.
The beach is patrolled but the surf lifesaving season will not begin until this Saturday.
The man is yet to be formally identified by authorities.
The incident is being investigated, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
