100 Years Ago, 1925: In effect since April, the final 24 hours of daylight saving time for the present year, are scheduled to end at 2 o’clock, Sunday morning. During the period that “fast time” has been in vogue in this city, the city hall clocks recorded standard time, as did the timepieces in all municipal offices. Employees, however, observed daylight saving time during the summer months.

75 Years Ago, 1950: Chester’s businessmen are going to save a lot of time this weekend. Some 26 clocks that are in store windows or on outside signs in the central business district will have to be turned back one hour when standard time takes over again Sunday at 2 a.m. and daylight saving time bows out for seven months.
