Super Typhoon Ragasa, one of the most powerful storms in recent years, made landfall on China’s Xiachuan Island on Wednesday, bringing intense winds, torrential rain, and widespread flooding. The storm already caused major damage across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and the Philippines before reaching China’s southern coast.

Chinese authorities issued evacuation orders for nearly two million residents, mainly across Guangdong province, where the typhoon hit hardest. Schools, factories, and public transport were shut down in over a dozen cities to brace for impact.
