Class 3A Piedmont (4-0) and Class 4A Cherokee County (4-1) remained No. 2 and No. 4 respectively in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

Piedmont is coming off a 40-27 victory over Westbrook Christian. The Bulldogs travel to Sylacauga to face B.B. Comer (1-3) this Friday.

Cherokee County defeated White Plains 34-18 last Friday. The Warriors host Class 6A Shades Valley (1-4) on Thursday night.

One other area team continues to receive consideration for the poll: Class 1A Spring Garden (3-2). The Panthers are coming off a 58-23 victory over Valley Head and will host Cedar Bluff (2-3) on Friday in the Foothills Tractor Game of the Week.
