The Lenoir-Rhyne football team dropped their second game of the season on Saturday 24-7 to Carson-Newman.

It was LR's first South Atlantic Conference loss of the season. The Bears are now 2-2 overall, 2-1 in conference play.

The Carson Newman Eagles led 17-7 in the fourth quarter when the game was halted for a two-plus hour weather delay. After the delay, the Eagles added to their lead and held on for their first league victory of the season.

The Eagles held LR to just 266 total yards. Max Blanc threw his first touchdown pass as a Bear, coming in for starting quarterback Wells Bettenhousen. Blanc finished with 89 passing yards, including the 40-yard touchdown toss to Dominique Marshall.
