India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from parts of northwest India while warning of a fresh spell of rainfall in several regions due to multiple weather systems. The monsoon withdrawal line now extends through Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, with conditions expected to become favourable for its retreat from more areas within the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal and another likely formation later this week are forecast to bring heavy rains across eastern, central, southern, and western India.
