On Monday, the Hamilton Cardinals pitcher was named the most valuable player of the Intercounty Baseball League.
“I was pretty surprised,” the 32-year-old starter says.
The league started giving out an MVP award in 1927. A Hamilton player never won it until 2023 when Tyler Duncan earned the prize. Now the organization has two in three years.
Even in a league that tends to be hitter-friendly, Boon was an obvious choice.
