A man whose drug-trafficking and illegal weapons possession case involve a former Warren teacher accused of drug possession has pleaded no contest to several charges.

Deangelo R. Daniel, 43, of Warren, entered pleas to eight charges Monday in Macomb County Circuit Court in exchange for dismissal of four counts and a minimum four-year sentence under a deal reached between his attorney, Catherine O’Meara, and county prosecutors.

Daniel and his co-defendants — former Lincoln High School teacher Christopher M. Filiccia, 47, and Daniel’s live-in girlfriend, 36-year-old Racquel Dubose – were arrested last New Year’s Eve after Warren police observed a transaction between Filiccia and Daniel in Daniel’s truck parked in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 12 Mile and Schoenherr roads, officials said.
