Football analyst Kirk Herbstreit received some heartbreaking news last week while calling the Dolphins vs. Bills game for Prime Video.

Herbstreit was in the booth on Thursday when he learned that his friend, Brett James, was killed in a small plane crash in North Carolina.

James, a Grammy-winning songwriter and a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, was in a plane that went down near an elementary school in Franklin, North Carolina.

Last Friday, Kirk Herbstreit posted on X about his friend Brett James dying so suddenly.
