Cadet Neil Edara joined the ROTC at Rutgers University in 2021. He was at Fort Knox as part of the 9th Regiment, Advanced Camp, according to the Army ROTC.
During summer training on July 24, Edara collapsed in front of others. He was flown on a military helicopter to U of L Hospital, where he later died.
The Jefferson County Coroner released his cause of death as hyperthermia, or heat-stress related.
