The Oakley Hornets earned a four-set 26-28, 25-18, 25-10, 25-18 victory over the Sun Valley Community School Cutthroats in Idaho Class 2A Snake River Conference volleyball action on Thursday at the Fishtank in Sun Valley.
Despite the loss, Cutthroats Head Coach Natalie Heurkins felt the team competed hard against a tough opponent.
“There was a ‘nothing to lose’ mindset: We’re going to play this tough team, so let’s have fun and make the most of it,” she said. “We were playing loose and smart.”
The Cutthroats showed that mindset in the first set as they outlasted the Hornets 28-26 and sophomore Maggie Bailey recorded a kill to clinch the set victory.
