KINGSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The University of Rhode Island (URI) has sidelined its men's club rugby team for the rest of the school year amid allegations of hazing.
A spokesperson for URI said they began investigating immediately after reports of the incident.
"The complaint was examined and adjudicated consistent with the University's student conduct process," the spokesperson said. "In accordance with FERPA, we cannot discuss individual student conduct proceedings."
The university determined the team will not represent URI in any organized competition, practice, or scrimmage during the 2025-26 academic year.
