A Montana fugitive, accused by federal authorities of poaching eagles on the Flathead Reservation, has been captured by Canadian authorities and charged with poaching eagles in that country as well.

According to Canadian news outlet CityNews Calgary , Simon Paul is one of five people facing a slew of charges in Canada related to illegally killing birds of prey.

Paul is wanted in the U.S. on multiple felony federal charges related to the alleged killing and trafficking of eagles and hawks, and had failed to appear in court . Prosecutors in the U.S. allege that Paul and another man killed over 3,600 birds, including bald and golden eagles, in Montana and surrounding states.

Last November, a Washington man originally from the Flathead Reservation, Travis John Branson, 49, was sentenced
