An 18-year-old Duluth woman was instantly killed by an iron post that fell after it was struck by an automobile swerving to avoid her as she stepped off a streetcar on her way home from Central High School. Exiting the streetcar at the same time was another woman on her way to bring the victim's mother to the hospital. The two women did not know each other.

Six hundred people are expected to march today in a downtown Duluth parade as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Aad temple of the Shrine. The two-day program opened last night with a "Shrinerama" at the National Guard Armory, followed by a stage show and dance.
